As many as 130 roads in Thiruvananthapuram Assembly constituency are being renovated at a cost of Rs.28 crore, Minister for Transport V.S. Sivakumar has said.
Upgrading of 15 roads under the State Level Task Force (SLTF) scheme at a cost of Rs.2.70 crore; 33 roads under the upgrading scheme (Rs.5.14 crore); 14 under the award of the 13 Finance Commission (Rs.2.55 crore); 65 roads under the State government’s Corporation road renovation scheme (Rs.9 crore); and three roads (Rs.8.5 crore) under the State budget allocation are progressing, Mr. Sivakumar said in a statement here.
Work on 28 out of 33 roads included in the upgrading scheme has been completed. The Killipalam-Attakulangara-Chala Bypass (Rs.1 crore), Shanghumughom-Vettucaud-Veli (Rs.2 crore), Jagathy-Melarannoor-PRS Hospital Road (Rs.5.5 crore) are the roads being upgraded using the budget allocation. Mr. Sivakumar said the work on three roads would be completed by March this year.
