Ajmal plays a Tamilian in Mollywood
Malayali actor Ajmal Ameer, who has made a mark in other South Indian industries, especially Kollywood, is making a comeback of sorts to Malayalam through Ranjith’s Loham.
Interestingly, the actor plays a Tamilian in the film and will speak only Tamil. Ajmal says, “I play the character named Perumal, a young politician who is often touted as the next minister. He is the son of Tamil Nadu’s finance minister and visits Kerala to buy the IPL team. What excites me is that I mostly speak Tamil seasoned with English and Hindi. Ranjith sir has also asked me to dub for the character as he is happy about my diction.”
The actor is excited to share screen space with Mohanlal again after Madambi, and says he has several power-packed scenes with the superstar. “My look in Loham is modelled after popular young politicians of our country, who are often spotted in the stylish white kurta-jacket combo outfit. I have almost completed shooting my portions,” he adds.
Mohanlal essays the role of a cab driver in Loham, which is a thriller with gold smuggling business as the theme. Andrea plays the leading lady. Prithviraj has a guest appearance in the film.
