Anoop Menon, VK Prakash all set for Trivandrum Lodge 2
VK Prakash-Anoop Menon duo’s Trivandrum Lodge has a cult following among the Malayali audience for audaciously dealing with the themes of sexual frustration, perversion and voyeurism. The two are now gearing up for the sequel of their 2012 hit.
Anoop will be scripting and acting in the movie, which will start filming in 2016. “I am working on a thread and have caricatured a few personalities in my mind,” says Anoop Menon.
The first film had Jayasurya, Saiju Kurup, Honey Rose and Thesni Khan as part of the cast. Will the upcoming movie have the entire cast returning? “The cast would be different. We plan to minimise the number of actors. But we will retain some of them from the previous film as well,” he says.
Anoop had played the role of the owner of the lodge in the earlier movie. However, he said he won’t be reprising the character for the sequel. “Actually, none of us would,” he says. “It will be a different lodge and won’t be set in Ernakulam like in the original. That’s the catch of the movie. It will also have different characters.”
Before beginning the work on the sequel, director VK Prakash and the actor would work on another movie titled Munthirithoppile Athithi, which also has Bhavana. “We hope to begin shooting in January next year. After that I have M Padmakumar’s legal thriller lined up and only then we would start the Trivandrum Lodge sequel,” says Anoop, who is currently shooting the final schedule of Pa.Va.
