The police have launched a probe into the leak of a confidential statement of the Malayalam film actress who was attacked by a gang in Kochi last month.
The probe was initiated after the statement was spread on social media and messaging apps. Crucial information on a remand application prepared by the Aluva police was widely circulated among the public. Kottayam district police chief N. Ramachandran is heading the probe.
The actress was abducted and abused in a moving car on the night of February 17. The police have arrested six people in connection with the incident and a probe is on for evidence, including the mobile phone used by the attackers to capture photos of the actress.
