Dileep,Mammootty visits Sidharth Bharathan in hospital
It was a shocking news for the members of the Malayalam film industry and its fans when they came to know that young actor-director Sidharth Bharathan was seriously wounded in a car accident Saturday morning.
Sidharth was critically injured after his car allegedly crashed into a roadside wall near Kochi around 2 am on Saturday, police said.
Sidharth, who suffered a serious head injury in the smash that occurred at Chambakkara, has been admitted to the Medical Trust hospital.
Hospital sources said the condition of the 32-year-old filmmaker is serious but stable.
Sidharth is the son of legendary Malayalam film director Bharathan and actress KPAC Lalitha.
Movie stars, including Mammootty and Dileep, visited him in the hospital, sources said.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala telephoned the hospital authorities to enquire about his health condition, they said.
Dileep-starrer Chandrettan Evideya, directed by Siddharth earlier this year, was a box office success.
He made his acting debut with Kamal-directed Nammal in 2002 and directed his first feature film Nidra, a remake of the 1981 film by his father, in 2012. Though it was a brief role, his performance in Spirit, a 2012 film, was lauded by many. Both his directorial ventures had won critical acclaim.
