A farmer committed suicide when he incurred loss due to destruction of crops. Somarajan, 48 from Thettamala died after consuming poison. He was found in an unconscious bad near his home on Monday noon and though he was rushed to district hospital, his life could not be saved.

Somrajan was distressed when he lost crops in four acres of land in the incessant rains and relatives said he had debt of Rs 4 lakh. Wife is Geetha, children Snupa, Snudeep.
