Thiruvananthapuram: The government has failed in evicting the encroachers from Munnar, the leader of the opposition Oommen Chandy alleged Tuesday. The government should call an emergency meeting of all the political parties in the state on the issue, he said.If the check dams at Munnar are illegal, the government should take over them, he said.
The government is not careful in its moves against Tata, he said. If the government decides to demolish the dams, the UDF will support it, he said. Chandy also pointed out that the government had taken the decision to demolish the dams but then took the opposite stand when the High Court order came. The small scale farmers and merchants are used as a shield to protect party offices, he said. The CPM is trying to cover up its Munnar failure through its Wayanad move, he said.
