Indrajith gets a movie theatre !
Actor Indrajith has recently been taking up roles that are quite distinct. The latest we learn is that the actor will be playing a theatre owner in his upcoming outing with debutant Vishnu Vijayan Kaaraattu, titled Adoorum Thoppilumallatha Oru Bhasi. The movie which also has Sreejith Ravi playing a major character, showcases the life of its protagonist Bhasi, and is a story of love, laughter, struggles and happiness.
Says its scribe Jayaraaj Mithra Pazhayannur, “Bhasi is the name of the lead character played by Indrajith. He is neither Adoor Bhasi or Thoppil Bhasi; but someone who receives a movie theatre as his ancestral property. He and his friends attempt to resolve the issues he confronts while running the theatre but it eventually ends up in bigger problems.” Sreejith Ravi plays the theatre operator while Marimayam fame S P Sreekumar and Sanju Sivaram act as friends of Bhasi. Balachandran, V K Sreeraman and Sona Nair are the other actors on board. While actress Srinda plays college sweetheart to Bhasi, Rachana Narayanankutty dons the character of the wife of the protagonist in this entertainer. When contacted, Rachana said that she is happy about the film offered to her.
“This is the first time I am doing a project with Indrajith. My character, Lekha, is a homely and supportive wife, who stands with her husband through thick and thin.” Though the movie has a time span from 1972 to the 1990s, its makers say that it is not a period flick. “We are not making any intentional efforts to show the time span, like a sepia colour tone or a different dressing style.” Jassie Gift will compose the music for the movie, which is set in Palakkad.
