The police probing the death of Jishnu Pranoy, a student of Nehru College of Engineering here, have decided to issue a lookout notice against the accused who are absconding. The notice will be issued against all the five accused, including P. Krishnadas, chairman, Nehru Group of Educational Institutions.
Krishnadas is the prime accused while the other accused are college principal Dr. N.K. Sakthivel, college invigilator C.P. Praveen, PRO Sanjith Viswanathan and faculty member Dipin. The police have registered a case against the accused with nonbailable charges. The accused had gone into hiding soon after the case was registered.
Jishnu was found hanging in hostel bathroom last month after he was allegedly harassed by the college management. The police have found that the accused had conspired to frame Jishnu in a case of malpractice during examination. It has been found that Krishnadas and Sanjith were directly involved in the conspiracy.
The police report also says that Jishnu was assaulted by those including Sakthivel. The death of Jishnu triggered a 40day long strike by students on the campus which was called off the other day after Krishnadas was removed from the post of chairman.
