Karnataka blast case: K’taka seeks security for witnesses

The Karnataka government has appealed to the NIA court to arrange special security cover for advocates and witnesses of Bengaluru blasts case, in which alleged Lashkar­e­Taiba (LeT) operative Thadiyantavide Nazir is a key accused.

The prosecution contended that the accused was constantly trying to influence the witnesses and therefore they should be provided with security.

Following the complaint, the court reprimanded the advocate of Thadiyantavide Nazir. Recently, the Kerala Police had found that Thadiyantavide Nazir, who is in jail, was plotting ways to weaken case against him and coordinate terror attacks.

A close aide of Nazir, Shahnas, was arrested in Kochi the other day

The police had confiscated secret letters of Nazir from the aide.
