Keerthy Suresh to romance Dhanush in Tamil
It looks like Keerthy Suresh has become one of the most sought-after actresses in Kollywood, even before the release of her debut film. We hear that she has been roped in by Prabhu Solomon for his upcoming romantic film, in which Dhanush plays the lead.
A source close to the team confirms the news saying, “It is true that Keerthy Suresh has been roped in as the female lead in the film. Prabhu Solomon wanted to cast a new girl for the role, and he finally zeroed in on Keerthy. The shoot of the film is likely to begin in July.” Dhanush is teaming up with Prabhu Solomon for the first time, and he will be playing the role of a pantry worker. The film’s story is about a guy who travels from Delhi to Chennai in Duronto Express.
Though the actress is missing in action from her home-turf, Mollywood, she has a number of big ticket projects in other industries down south, which includes Hari Katha in Telugu and Paambu Sattai in Tamil. Keerthy is currently busy completing Rajini Murugan opposite Sivakarthikeyan and will also join the shoot of Jiiva’s next film with Deekay.
“In Hari Katha, I play a mature girl, who is also an introvert. I am paired opposite actor Ram in the film. In Aina Ishtam Nuvvu, I play a bubbly traditional character alongside Navin Krishna, the nephew of Mahesh Babu. That’s my first Telugu movie and I am pinning hopes on it,” says Keerthy, adding that she is trying to take up diverse roles as much as possible. “The characters I played so far are quite different from each another. For instance, in my next Tamil film, Paambu Sattai, which has Bobby Simha in the lead, I play a rustic character — a bold girl from a poor family.”
Keerthy is currently awaiting the release of her Tamil debut, Idhu Enna Maayam. She says, “Many people ask me what kind of films I want to do. And I would say, I don’t have any favourite genre, only favourite characters. For instance, Kangana’s character in Queen and Parvathy’s character in Maryan are some of my favourites.”
So is she ready to do glamorous roles as well? “I’ll do roles that I am comfortable with. More than a hot and sexy image, I prefer a girl next-door image. In fact, I like playing homely characters just like my mother,” she signs off.
