Lakshmy Ramakrishnan to start her next
Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, who ventured out into commercial cinema with Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, kick-started the work of her next project titled Ammini recently. The actress-turned-director, will be writing and directing this film once again.
Ask her if like all her films, this one too will be female-centric, and she laughs, “No, not at all. The title might suggest that it is a female-centric project, but in fact, it has something for everyone. I took the commercial route in my last film and the film before that was on a different genre. So, I believe in giving my audience something new with every film I make.” So, what is the genre of that film? “The theme of the film is universal. Happiness, if you see, is usually given a form. We relate to happiness in many different ways. In this film, I want to explore the idea of happiness, so I can’t really categorise it into any particular genre.”
While rumours have been floating around that Lakshmy’s next film is going to be a female-centric film with actress Madhoo playing the lead, Lakshmy is quick to clarify that Ammini is not that film. “I share a warm bond with Madhoo. We may work together in the future, but Ammini is completely different.” The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized.
