Kannur: Launching a scathing attack against the Congress-led UDF, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said more corruption cases involving the front leaders were coming to light. The CPM-led LDF, if voted to power, would take stern action against corrupt politicians and sexual exploiters, he told an election convention meeting of party candidate E P Jayarajan in Mattannor constituency.
Apparently referring to the recent conviction of Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai in a corruption case and the resurfacing of the sex scandal allegedly involving IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty, he said UDF was in a precarious situation as more cases of corruption involving their leaders were coming to light.
Achuthanandan, who was given a rousing reception by party workers upon his arrival here, claimed that the LDF would return to power with good majority. Lashing out at the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre for the various scams, he said, “What was happening at the Centre was a ‘kumbh mela’ of corruption”.
