Miya George replaced by Anu Sithara
With Mollywood’s established actresses now busy with Tamil films, it seems the door is now wide open for up-and-comers to find their feet.
‘Happy Wedding’ fame Anu Sithara is the latest star to be roped in for Venugopan’s movie ‘Sarvopari Palakkaran’ after its initial cast member Miya opted out owing to commitments in Kollywood.
The movie’s scriptwriter S Suresh Babu tells us, “Miya is doing a Tamil movie in August and her schedule will clash with ours. So, we decided to cast Anu for the role of Anoop Menon’s fiancee in the movie.”
Anu, who has also done cameos in ‘Oru Indian Pranayakatha’ and ‘Anarkali’, confirms that she has signed the film. “It’s a different role from those I have done earlier. My character Linda is an urban girl with a modern outlook. She’s a post graduate student who studies in Ernakulam,” she says.
The actress says that she’s glad at being offered a full-length role in the film, which will see her share screen space with Anoop and Aparna Balamurali. “I have been told there will be an acting camp. I am hoping that would help break the ice with the other artistes,” she adds.
Incidentally, Anu too would be heading to Kollywood before the filming of Sarvopari Palakkaran. “I have earlier done a Tamil movie titled Veri, which is the sequel of Vishal’s Thimiru. I will be shooting another Tamil project next month before I join the acting camp in the beginning of August,” she says.
