Police find phone from Pulsar Suni’s Coimbatore hideout

The police team probing the actress attack case has found a mobile phone from the hideout of Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the case, in Coimbatore. The phone was found from a house at Sreeram colony in Peelamedu where Suni and his accomplice Vigeesh stayed after committing the crime.

The police on Sunday took Suni and Vigeesh to Peelamedu for evidence collection. Police have been trying to retrieve the mobile phone, which was used to take photos of the actress during the attack.

However, it is not clear if the phone found from Peelamedu is the one Suni used for the crime. Suni’s aide in Peelamedu couldn’t be nabbed as he fled the scene on knowing about the arrival of the cops.

During interrogation, Suni told the police that he and Vigeesh stayed on the street or the terrace of abandoned buildings as they had no money to afford lodge rooms. He said he had reached Ernakulam a day before his arrest and stayed on the terrace of a building in Kolenchery. Meanwhile, the police have identified the owner of a bike on which Suni and Vigeesh reached the additional chief judicial magistrate court in Kochi to surrender.

The Pulsar bike is owned by Selvan, a native of Peelamedu. The accused came to the court from their hideout in Coimbatore on the bike.

Selvan told police that his bike had been stolen. On Saturday, the Aluva judicial first class magistrate court granted 8day police custody of Suni and Vigeesh till March 5.
