Prithviraj and Indrajith movie titled Tiyan
After Prithviraj-Indrajith duo’s critical darling Veettilekkulla Vazhi that had them traversing North India, the brothers will reunite for another film next year with a national appeal titled Tiyan.
The film, which is scripted by Murali Gopy and directed by Krishnakumar, had already shot some of its portions at the Kumbh Mela in Nasik.
Its director informs us that a skeleton crew including him, the cameraman and the VFX team has been shooting in Nasik for a week braving the massive crowds and restrictions.
“We have been filming at Trimbakeshwar and Ramkundh, both swarming locations. It’s been hectic and difficult because the crowd keeps swelling every minute making filming next to impossible. We have also been travelling from one site to another to capture the best visuals of Kumbh Mela,” says Krishnakumar.
Apart from the religious sites of Nasik, the movie will also be shot in Mumbai, Pune, Badrinath and Manali. “As it involves so many locations, it will be filmed in three or four schedules depending on the climate,” the Kanchi filmmaker explains, adding that shooting with the cast will start only later this year.
In addition to Prithviraj and Indrajith, Asif Ali and Murali Gopy will also play prominent roles in Tiyan. About the genre of the film that will hit the theatres by mid-2016, Krishnakumar says that it would be a film that “would appeal to all audience and it’s a commercial entertainer.” Incidentally, Murali Gopy had previously scripted the fiery character Vattu Jayan for Indrajith in Left Right Left and the actor is quite excited about the opportunity to work with him again.
Indrajith says, “It’s a movie with a pan-Indian appeal because a lot of languages and places are involved as part of the story. It’s also a Murali Gopy script so the characters will be intense. Those who liked Vattu Jayan are sure to love my character Pattabhiraman in Tiyan.”
