Priyanka Agrawal to team up with Mohanlal
Major Ravi’s upcoming movie 1971: Beyond Borders has already racked up a stellar cast with Mohanlal, Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh as its leading men. The filmmaker has now roped in Mumbai-based model Priyanka Agrawal to play one of its two heroines.
The model-turned-actress will be making her debut with the film which will see her in the role of a Pakistani. The director tells us, “Priyanka plays the wife of Pakistani Lieutenant Colonel Rana Sharif, who will be essayed by Arunoday Singh. She will be seen in two looks – as a 65-year-old and as her younger self.”
Major Ravi had earlier told us that Arunoday’s role in the film is inspired by a real-life soldier of the Pakistani Frontier Force during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war, on which the film is based.
For Priyanka, the project will be her first feature film, but the second time she is collaborating with Mohanlal. “I had worked with him for an advertisement thatPriyadarshan sir had directed. So, I am looking forward to working in the film,” she says, adding that she was also part of several Punjabi and Hindi music videos.
The actress will join the team in Suratgarh, Rajasthan, on Oct 31. Mohanlal will be seen in three looks in the film while Allu Sirish will be playing his second-in-command as an armoured tank commander.
