The Principal Sessions Court has ordered to produce the 11 people arrested in two phases in connection with online sex racket case in the court on Monday.
The Crime Branch had sought the custody of the accused in the case. The court would also consider the application of two juvenile girls from Bengaluru to permit them to go with their parents. The police have sought the custody of Rahul Pasupalan and Resmi Nair, the key organisers of the Kiss of Love protest, for eliciting more evidence related to the sex racket case.
The police have also sought the custody of five persons arrested first in connection with a case which has links with the latest sex racket case.
The police say that on interrogating them, they would be able to get details of the organisers and partners of the racket. But the police could not arrest the kingpin Joshy alias Achayan, Mubina and Vandana, who gave the slip and escaped in their vehicle after injuring the policemen on duty. It has been decided to deploy a police team to Bengaluru to nab Lineesh Mathew, another main accused in the case.
Meanwhile, the two girls from Bengaluru who have been accommodated at the shelter home here, have sought the court’s permission to go with their parents. On medical examination, one of the girls was found to be sexually exploited, the police said. District Public Prosecutor A.Santosh Kumar appeared for the prosecution.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru West Additional Commissioner C.H.Prathapa Reddy has informed that the Karnataka police would arrive soon to gather information about the case and the dealings of Lineesh Mathew in Kerala.
It has been found that the sex racket had been preying on Backward Class girls who were in the grip of poverty in various districts of Karnataka. They were being lured by offering jobs in companies, the police said.
