KANNUR: Railway passengers here were told to take all precautions against thefts and attacks. Passengers, who were waiting to board trains at the railway station here on Saturday afternoon, were told of the measures they should take while travelling to prevent incidents of crime.
Railway Divisional Security Commissioner T.S. Raju, who addressed the passengers as part of a safety awareness programme, said that crime aboard trains could be brought down if the passengers took adequate precautions.
Mr. Raju advised the passengers not to carry valuables like jewellery while travelling. Precautions include keeping luggage locked and tied to the seat. They should not accept food from strangers inside the train, he said.Passengers were also asked to inform the authorities if they noticed suspicious objects on the train or at the railway station.
