Saranya Mohan Biography
Saranya Mohan is an Indian film actress who has acted in Malayalam and Tamil films. She is noted for her performance in the films Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Yaradi Nee Mohini. She was born on 20th February 1989 in Alappuzha in Kerala. She is the eldest daughter of the Malayali parents Mohan and Devika. She has one younger sister Sukanya.
Her mother is a classical dancer and is running a dance school in Alappuzha. She learnt Bharatanatyam from her mother. She joined St. Joseph College at Alappuzha and completed her B. A. degree in English literature. She was brought to the cinema field by the Malayalam director Fazil. He saw her dancing in the school and was impressed by her dance.
She acted in the Malayalam film Aniyathi Pravu which was the Tamil remake of Kadhalukku Mariyathai. In this film she acted in the role of a child artist and this was released in the year 1997. After acting in two more films as a child artist, she took a break from the film industry and concentrated on her studies. Then she acted in the supporting role in the Fazil’s direction, Oru Naal Oru Kanavu in the year 2005. She acted as the sister of the hero in this film.
She acted in the film Yaradi Nee Mohini in 2008 with Dhanush and Nayanthara. She acted in the comedy role of the sister of the heroine. This won her many accolades. She appeared in many Tamil films and they were less successful. Six of her films were released in 2009 and among them four were Tamil projects. Among these films the sports tragedy, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and supernatural thriller Eeram were successful.
Her Telugu debut film was Village Lo Vinayakudu and then she was starred in Chemistry. Some of her films include Bheemli Kabadi Jattu, Kalyanram Kathi, Natakame Ulakam, Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, Arumugam, Jayam Kondan, Mahesh, Saranya Matrum Palar, Panchamirtham, etc.
