A Vigilance probe has been ordered against the Managing Director of Kerala State Centre for Advanced Printing and Training (C-apt) in connection with the row over textbook printing.
The Home Affairs Department ordered the probe in connection with the decision to entrust a private press with the printing of school textbooks.
Earlier, Opposition parties and students’ organisations demanded a judicial probe into the Education Department’s move to entrust a private press with the printing of textbooks.
The private press was awarded the contract to print textbooks following inordinate delay in distribution of the books.
C-apt is an organisation aiming to impart training in the field of computer and animation to the educated unemployed youth and to undertake printing and reprographic works for the government departments, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings.
