KOLLAM: P.K. Gurudasan, Minister for Labour, has said that Leader of the Opposition Ommen Chandy and the Congress leadership in the State are liable for sabotaging the scheme to provide rice at Rs.2 a kg for all, announced by the State government.He was inaugurating the second State conference of the CITU-affiliated Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) Agents Association here on Sunday.
Mr. Gurudasan alleged that Mr. Chandy had become obsessed with opposing any subsidy scheme of the State government for people’s welfare.The transparent economic policy of the State government had resulted in a corruption-free administration during the last 58 months.
He said KSFE agents had played a major role in the growth of the company as a successful financial organisation.Therefore, the KSFE and the government were duty bound to protect them and safeguard their interests, he said.
Association president Kattakada Sasi presided over the function.Mr. Sasi said the KSFE had registered tremendous growth during the past five years as a result of the positive policies of the Left Democratic Front government.
