Union Home Secretary cautioned religious radicalism did not bode well for State’s future

Thiruvananthapuram: Union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai on Tuesday cautioned that religious radicalism did not bode well for the State’s future.Speaking to mediapersons, he reiterated that Kerala was a largely peaceful State. Mr. Pillai attended a meeting on State police modernisation chaired by Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home, K. Jayakumar and Director-General of Police Jacob Punnose were among the senior officials present.The deliberations were mainly on how best the Centre could provide funds for modernising the State police force and which all areas should be accorded priority.
