Bangalore: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan Monday declined to comment on the charge sheet of Kerala-based People’s Democratic Party chief Abdul Nasser Madhani for his alleged role in the 2008 serial bomb blasts here, saying details of the investigation were yet to emerge.
“Madhani’s situation today and factual position of the Karnataka police’s case are yet to emerge. Once it emerges, we can share our views,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function.Asked if his state would cooperate with Karnataka in the case, he said Kerala home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had already issued a statement saying Karnataka police were yet to inform their counterparts in Thiruvananthapuram about the charge sheet.
If Karnataka police gave information to Kerala police, necessary action would be taken, he quoted Balakrishnan as saying. Balakrishnan had yesterday said that Kerala police was yet to receive any official communication from their Karnataka counterparts concerning the charge sheet of Madhani, but added that the state police would extend its help if sought.Madhani was among the six persons named in an additional charge sheet filed by the Bangalore Police last Friday in a court here, taking the total number of those charged in the case to 32.
