VS denied the allegation against his son

Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition UDF Wednesday moved an adjournment motion on the allegation that the son of Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, V.S. Arunkumar, received a bribe of Rs 7 lakhs from the sandalwood factory owners.

The chief minister denied the allegation saying that the sandalwood mafia mushroomed during the tenure of the UDF and asked the opposition why it did not take any action at that time.The allegations against Arunkumar brought by the opposition has demonstrated its degeneration, he said.

Achuthanandan also told the house that Congress leader M.M. Hassan had to apologise after levelling allegation against Arunkumar in the Smart City issue. After the chief minister’s speech there was pandemonium in the house and the oppostion memebers staged a walk out.
